We are a group of
New Testament Christians meeting in Athens Alabama who
are trying to be like the church that you read about in
the Bible. We shun man-made doctrines and believe that
you will find us to be Christ-centered and truth loving.
We rely only on God's written word as the authority for
how we worship Him.
The emphasis of the congregation at Westview is purely
spiritual. Yes, we have a building. Our building
contains an auditorium conducive to spiritual worship
and class rooms for Bible study. Our worship services
are quite simple with congregational singing, prayers,
the preaching of the word, and weekly observance of the
Lord's supper.
Who are we you might ask? We are men women and young
people in the community who are much like yourself. We
are teachers, truck drivers, mail carriers, engineers,
insurance salespeople, doctors, builders, and retail
clerks. who seek daily to please God in everything we
do.
When you visit Westview, you'll find that you'll will be
greeted with courtesy and kindness. We understand that
God does not want us to be a respecter of persons in the
assembly (James 2:1-9), so no matter who visits,
regardless of race, color, social status, etc., they
will be warmly welcomed. |
